The Elk & Cameron Food Banks provide food boxes to low-income families. Food Items are obtained through local donations and from funds and commodities provided by The Emergency Food Assistance Program, State Food Purchase Program, and the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.
TEFAP
The United States Department of Agriculture via the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture provides surplus food items to Northern Tier for distributions at the Elk and Cameron County Food Banks.
SFPP
Funds are provided to Food Banks for the purchase of food items to ensure a complete and balanced nutritional diet. Funding is available through the PA Department of Agriculture/Bureau of Food Distribution.
EFSNB
Provides funding to assist with the provision of services to economically disadvantaged families.
